Time and reflection and caring, then sharing and reflection back - what a wonderful thing it is to receive a letter. Thank you Suzanne for reminding us so eloquently.

Oh, Grandma and her cakes. Lady Baltimore was her favorite, made with absolutely the best ingredients; as a child, I did not appreciate the raisins, nuts and coconut in the frosting between the layers, but she did not know that and made it every year for my birthday, and I didn't want to hurt her feelings so didn't say anything; I sure wish I could have a piece now!
You and Jen have written wonderful letters to me over the years that I have savoured and saved. A true gift your friend sent you, and you write beautifully about it. Moi

What a gift that letter is. Not something that can be inadvertently sent to the wrong person, read by too many or overheard, but something that can be unwrapped again for an extra boost of love, warmth, strength and understanding. Loved this entry too!
